KPMG China’s People Management Leaders (PML) program won an award in the HKIHRM/SCMP People Management Awards 2008 on December 11. The Awards are jointly organised by the Hong Kong Institute of Human Resource Management (HKIHRM), the most prominent professional HR body in Hong Kong, and the South China Morning Post (SCMP).
These awards recognise organisations that have achieved business success through a coherent and strategic approach to managing people. It identifies people management initiatives and implementation techniques that have created outstanding benefit for the organisation and its stakeholders, including its employees. KPMG China is the first Big 4 firm to ever win the award.
The judging process started in July 2008 and it involved multiple stages of tight and diligent assessments, including submitting documents describing our programme and its successes; completing an online survey that measures the key assessment criteria; a site visit; interviews with our senior leaders including our Chairman and a group of our PMLs/SPMLs; and a final presentation to the judging panel. We have clearly demonstrated to the judging panel, comprised of senior HR executives and business leaders, the strategic nature and direct business impacts of the People Management Leaders (PML) initiative.
KPMG China has once again won an Employer Award, as we were selected one of the Top Employers in the East China region by Corporate Research Foundation (CRF). Our Senior Partner, Eastern and Western China Region, Louie Choi, received the award at CRF China's 2009 Top Employers Award Ceremony, held in Shanghai on 15 December 2008.
The CRF Top Employer Award recognises organisations whose employer framework exceeds the HR Benchmark designed by CRF. This benchmark encompasses six dimensions: Compensation and Benefits, Promotion and Career Development, Company Culture, Training, Working Conditions, and Employees' Health Management.
The annual assessment includes an on-line questionnaire, an on-site evaluation by a panel of CRF experts, and interviews with senior staff. KPMG China was given the award to recognise our exceptional performance against the HR Benchmark criteria.
KPMG's wide variety of programs, such as our People Management Leaders, extensive training and development programmes and myLife initiative, were all created to help us meet our goal of being an Employer of Choice, and this award is a recognition of our efforts, and our successes.
Established as the Corporate Research Foundation in the Netherlands in 1991, CRF is an international publication house that conducts and publishes research in human resources, leadership and strategy. |
