Chairmen
KPMG in China

At KPMG, one of our core values is that “we are committed to our communities.” Being socially and environmentally conscious and responsible has always been an integral part of the way we do business. Our commitment to corporate social responsibility unites the whole organisation and helps to make KPMG more dynamic and successful.

Education

We support underprivileged youth through formal and informal education programmes to help empower people towards a better future.

Through our New Great Wall initiative, KPMG in China provides financial aid as well as mentorship to 350 impoverished students in 28 universities.

Empowerment
We support innovative programmes and NGOs that provide sustainable solutions to key social issues, with the goal of helping people to help themselves.

Through Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE), our volunteers help university students learn about and initiate entrepreneurship in their local communities in order to create sustainable businesses.

By sending volunteers to Operation Smile’s medical missions and providing the organisation with training, we are helping to transform the lives of disadvantaged children and youth in China.

Environment
We support innovative programmes that provide sustainable solutions to climate change, environmental protection, and natural resource management.

The key ambition of KPMG’s Global Green Initiative is to reduce all member firms’ combined carbon footprint by 25 percent by the year 2010 from a 2007 baseline. We are currently carrying out a KPMG China Carbon Emission Assessment (CCEA) of all our China offices. We will use the results to set achievable and sustainable annual goals to further reduce our carbon emissions by introducing new policies and initiating staff awareness and education programmes.
